Ed Hanchett-Chairperson

Ed Hanchett started his medical career in 1979 as a Radiologic Technologist after graduating from CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY. He continued his education with a Bachelor’s degree in 1981 from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine and a Master’s degree in 2000 from SUNY Plattsburgh. In addition he has attended the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership Program in 2000 and Cornell University’s Johnson Business School for the HANYS Academy for Healthcare Leadership Advancement in 2011.

Ed is currently the Senior Director of Medical Imaging at Glens Falls Hospital overseeing the department's operations. He has worked at Glens Falls Hospital for 36 years in a variety of roles. In 2003 Ed received the People Leadership Award in which he was nominated by staff and selected by Senior Management as a leader that best demonstrates the qualities of Service, Recognition, Visibility, Trust, Proactivity and Communication.

Ed has been active in numerous committees at GFH and has served on several boards including Caritas, SUNY Adirondack Foundation, and Parks Heritage FCU for 20 plus years. He is a strong believer in the role of community organizations especially non-profits and supports their mission in various ways. Ed and his wife Kathleen live in Queensbury with their two daughters Lydia and Isabelle.

Travis Howe- Vice Chairperson

Travis Howe is a past Chairperson and currently holds the position of Vice Chairperson of the PHFCU Board and has served the credit union since 2011.

Travis is the Executive Director of the Mountain Lakes Regional EMS Council and is responsible for coordinating Emergency Medical Services (EMS) oversight and education in a five county area of the North Country. He has been involved in EMS since 1999 and works part time as an EMT for E5 Support Services, and Lake George EMS. He is an EMS educator and also works for Warren County as a Deputy EMS Coordinator.

Travis and his wife Bridgette currently reside in Warrensburg with Stella, their Labrador Retriever and during his spare time, he enjoys Mets baseball, cruise vacations and golf.

Cathy Bolton-Secretary

Cathy is a retired Registered Nurse from the Glens Falls Hospital. She was the manager of the GI Center and worked there since its inception in 1981. She previously worked in Obstetrics and the IV Department. She is a graduate of The Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing. Professionally she is a member of the Central New York Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates and has served on that board in several positions and as president for 2 terms. In addition she served seven years on the American Board for Certifying Gastroenterology Nurses in the position as a board member and as president. She was the recipient of the Gabrielle Schindler Award by SGNA for Professional and Clinical Excellence and the Nurse of Distinction Award from the Glens Falls Hospital. She has been a board member of Parks Heritage FCU for more than 15 years, currently in the position of Secretary.

She is married to her best friend Jim and they live in Ticonderoga with their cocker spaniel Emmett. They have two grown children Rich and his wife Lynne in Dallas and Tracy and her husband Ben in Olympia, WA and their beautiful grand daughters Lily and Abby in Olympia.

Steve Sawn- Treasurer

STEVEN R. SAWN joined the board of directors at Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union joining in May 2013. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Steve is the Assistant Vice President and Emergency Services Program Manager for USI Insurance Services, LLC

Steve has 32 years experience in commercial insurance, starting with Continental Insurance Co. in 1980. In 1983 he joined Associates of Glens Falls, where he worked for 15 years, servicing the needs of his emergency services customers. In 1998 he joined Community Insurance Agencies (Which later became TD Insurance and now USI Insurance Services) as Manager of their Emergency Services Insurance Division. Steve also has completed the Certified Insurance Counselor program and holds that designation.

In addition to his insurance qualifications, Steve has 38 years as a volunteer firefighter and rescue squad member. He started his service to the community in 1975 with Bay Ridge Vol. Fire Co. and Rescue Squad, in Queensbury, N.Y.

Currently, Steve lives in Kingsbury, N.Y. and has belonged to the Kingsbury Vol. Hose Co. since 1984. He has held various positions in these two companies, including Chaplain, Secretary, Financial Secretary, President and Director. Steve is also a member of the Firemen’s Association of NY (FASNY) and still an active Class “A” Firefighter and Emergency Responder.

Steve is also the past Chairman of the Mountain Lakes Regional EMS Council, a past delegate on the Northeastern New York EMS Program Agency, Past Chairman of the Northeastern New York EMS Education Corp., a past member of the EMS committee for the N.Y. State Chiefs & Officers Assoc. and a past member of the Washington County Traffic Safety Board.

Stephanie Merlow

Stephanie Merlow joined the PHFCU board of Directors in May of 2016. She has been a registered nurse since May 2005 and is currently working to advance her degree with American Sentinel University to get a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is currently employed as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Warren Center. In addition to a full time career, Stephanie is a volunteer for the Code Blue program with the Open Door Mission. Stephanie lives in Queensbury with her two boys Brock and Reis.

Scott Stone

Scott Stone joined our board in 2017. Scott has been a Registered Nurse since 2003. He is currently employed as the Manager of Charge Services in the Finance Department at Glens Falls Hospital. He is also the COO for Rockwell Falls Ambulance Service where he has been a critical care EMT since 1994. He enjoys teaching for the American Heart Association (AHA) and National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT).

Scott has been a volunteer fireman with Luzerne-Hadley Fire since 1993. He is a past Fire Chief and was previously president of the Warren County Past Chiefs Association. He is currently the Chairman for the Warren County EMS Advisory Board. Scott also received the Post Star 20 under 40 award.

Scott lives in Queensbury with his wife Deirdre and 2 kids, Nathan and Britta. During his free time, he enjoys boating, playing lacrosse with his son, throwing softball with his daughter and playing with his black lab, Cooper.

Supervisory Committee

Sandra Baker

Sandy has been a member with Parks Heritage CU since 1987 and has served with the Supervisory Committee since approximately 2005 years. She worked for GF Hospital for 28 years performing multiple positions within the Finance Division.

She is enjoying retirement with her husband Bruce in Corinth with their two dogs Khia and Spencer. They enjoy camping, motorcycle riding and traveling south to see their two grown children, son Bryan and his wife Allie in North Carolina and daughter Katelyn and soon to be husband Shane in New Jersey.

Arlene Archambault

Arlene Archambault has served Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union both on the Supervisory Committee as well as the Board of Directors since 2007. She worked for 26 years as an administrative assistant at Glens Falls Hospital and is also a professional medical transcriptionist. Arlene earned an Associate’s Degree from Adirondack Community College, which is now known as SUNY Adirondack.

Arlene and her husband, Michael reside in Hudson Falls with their aussie/border collie, Roxy. Their daughter, Alison is a high school English Teacher. Arlene attends St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and volunteers as a Eucharistic Minister to the residents at Fort Hudson Nursing Home as well as the homebound communicants of St. Mary’s.

Jane Griffiths

Jane joined the Supervisory Committee in July of 2017. She has been a member of the Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union for several years. Jane worked at Glens Falls Hospital for over 30 years working in the Patient Finance Department, The Rehabilitation Center, AMS and currently in Compliance.

Jane is an active volunteer with the Fort Ann Rotary, Glens Falls Chapter of Professional Coders, Lending Hearts and Hands (supports local cancer patients) and Fort Ann Rescue Squad. She lives in Fort Ann with her husband Bob, and has 3 grown children and 4 grandsons. Jane enjoys spending time at their camp on Friends Lake in the summer and traveling to Florida in the winter.
